 "University of Kuopio", as of 1st January 2010 merged with the "University of Joensuu" to form the "University of Eastern Finland". The University of Kuopio is very research intensive university in Finland and has the biggest educational unit in Environmental Sciences at the national level. The University contains five faculties: Business and Information Technology, Medicine, Natural and Environmental Sciences, Pharmacy, and Social Sciences. The research proposed will be carried out at Fine Particle and Aerosol Technology Laboratory, Department of Environmental science. The principal research areas of the laboratory are combustion and atmospheric aerosols, aerosol analytics, nanoparticle synthesis and health effect of aerosol particles.
