Task 1.2: Mechanical design of engines with extreme parameters

Objectives

The general objective is to develop design solutions which will counteract the increased thermal and mechanical loads on basic components in a future Diesel engine running on extreme parameters. The overall design objectives for future engines with extreme design parameters are:

    • Two stroke engines: MEP 23 bar, MPS 10 m/s, MFP 220 bar
    • Four stroke engines: MEP 30 bar, MPS 12 m/s, MFP 250 bar
